new sprockets please help
Hey guys,
My sprocket kit came in the mail today. its like a -1 +10 or 11.
I've never changed sprockets before and i don't have a bike stand....
any ideas for a makeshift bike stand so i can get my sprockets on this afternoon

Re: new sprockets please help
before you do anything, remove the bolt holding on the front sprocket.. Don't take the chain off don't do anything..
To change the front sprocket, put a 2x4 or piece of steel through the rear wheel, and break it loose with the bike in neutral
Once the front sprocket is changed, do whatever you want to lift the bike. I like to use a car jack under the suspension linkage so the bike is standing on hte kick stand, front wheel, and a jack.. And somtimes I'll use ratchet straps to strap the subframe to the garage ceiling

Re: new sprockets please help
The only hard part is removing that front sprocket... Once that's off its a hour job at most
Expect to use a breaker bar, with a cheater bar to get it off!
