03-04 636 oil filter

what are you all running? is there an auto filter that will fit up? what oil are you running too? I've been using kawi filters....

so highflo from Tucker Rocky is a HF204
a K&N filter would be a KN204

you get the idea...

and remember you have to re-install that little ring that holds the filter tight... some think you dont need it... well i have seen more than one 636 filter come loose cause that ring was not put back on!

Funny I took mine off the first time I changed the oil in 04, never put it back on since and probably done 20 filter changes since then and still never had a problem....

On my bike youd have to be crazy to put it back on, if you did youd have to remove the cage and left side lower everytime you wanted to change the filter. Leave it off and and take the V out from between the front of the bodywork, and I can change it without removing anything...

that was the 1st thing to go on both of my 03's i had. Numerous oil changes and never had a issue.
