Unhappy Stunting an R6?????

I've had an '01 R6 for a few weeks and still can't wheelie it. I'm trying to get slow ones first. Anybody who rides one have any advice? I hear they have a crappy ballance point but could be rumor.

i sold a F4 to get a R6... now im selling the R6 to get another Honda. I understand how you feel about the R6, i can wheelie it no problem, but i just dont feel comfortable on it.

people talk smack about the yammy R's.. but they can be stunted to **** if you please and invest the time.

if you can't get 1st gear to pick up by just rolling wide open on the throttle, try going about 5-6k rpm in 1st, bounce your weight on the pegs (so.. standup into a crouch and BOUNCE) and at the same time open the throttle. try a SMALL amount of throttle the first few times, and gradually build up. caution is key.. but trust me, it will come up easily this way.

look at my avatar.. that's the r1 happy times haha. just gotta me smooth on the throttle because the balance point on these bikes is narrow.

i have an 2001 R6 and its geared -1 in the front stock in the rear. i can ride wheelies for days and do a lot of other ****. but its true these bikes can be stunted. the problem with them is the balance point is very small.
but the thing about it is if yuo can stunt an R6 you can stunt anything. i got on my friends gsxr6 and they balance so easy compaired to my R6. i could have fallin asleep riding the wheelie.
bro for real take your time it will come. i love stunting my R6 because really no one else does and its always kool to be different.

hmmm i rode my friends stock R6.. that **** came up so easy... but it did feel a little bit weirder than my gsxr6 ,,,, i thought i just got use to the gixxer. but its amazing it comes up super easy... im not sure but i heard the stock rear sprocket is 48 teeth on the R6.... which would make that +3 for my gsxr.

i'm just learning wheelies myself, but i find it pretty easy to power wheelie if you nail it in first to like 6000-7000rpm then snap the throttle shut and then when the bike is coming back from lurching foward hit the gas and it will come right up. i'm new to this so i may be way off. just keep practicing.

I will agree that at first it might be a hard bike to learn on. But its a really good bike for slow wheelies...the carbs are really nice it doesnt want to stall at 12 oclock. Besides that everything is possible on it. I went +2 on rear sprocket when i was learning standups and then added -2 on front sprocket to learn 12's. But i did scrape my first scrape with just +2 on the rear.

Buy are video if you want to see my crew all stunting 600cc bikes and me on the R6. In the video you can see me doing long freeway wheelies...scraping tail...feet over front wheelies...scissor wheelies...spreaders....side saddle wheelies...wheelies standing on the seat...combo wheelies. Check it out.

R6

agreed. i can do everything the big boys do on their gixer 1k's. standups, tank, endos. once you hit the balance on it you'll just go and go but it's high and small. keep trying. I have an '03 and it comes up in second around 4k, bounced nice and smooth. the carbed ones are different but I can get my boys '02 up no prob around the same RPM range. you just have to learn the rythem of the bounce.

Power wheelie first gear on my gixxer 6 is easy in first. Just find a empty road that's smooth and go out in first take it to like 6,7,8 grand let off real quick and jump back on the gas, she'll come up no problem. No clutch, standing or nothing, just squeeze the tank with your knees and keep the wheel pointing straight.

I think powering takes too much effort on an r6, best thing is clutching it. I hated powering my r6 when it was stock too much of a work out. Gearing also helps right now im -1front +4rear my second gear works like first gear now I do all my tank wheelies in second now.

i would like to say that the yamaha r6 is the bike to stunt on you can do anything on it just likr the big boys but i can do it too on a bike that a lot of people do not use. i have learned kilroys no problem and have slowed my 1st gear wheellies down to about 5-7 mph right know and i just keep getting better

Yup nothing wrong with an R6 they will do anything any other bike will do.
<-----------

The only thing that I don't like is that it floods out real easy when I drop it
