cutting sprockets

Would it work if i cut my sprocket in half to make easy sprocket changes when i go for long rides. The 60 tooth is just to big for long rides. I know sprocket specialists sells split sprockets but what do they do to theres.

Re: cutting sprockets

idk about the cut sprocket nonsense but if ur not gonna be able to go down more than 3 teeth without having to take links out of your chain. maybe u should consider going to a sprocket thats only like 10 up. i run +7 on mine and it works great for lot and street.

If you're gonna do it, please get the first ride on video!!!

Seriously though... just don't do it... it'll hurt less...

you can actually get around this problem by running two sections of chain with two master links....have your normal length chain for the smaller sprocket then just have another set of how ever many additional links you need to fit the bigger sprocket....

but miller if you really want to do this just buy another rear wheel and swap the whole thing out when you want to change it and do the above mentioned chain set.....

you wont find that economical of a way to do this....

no need to buy a whole other wheel (though it is nice to have spares) just get another hub... flea bay has 'em all over
