Bunny Hop

How the hell do you do this? I saw it last year when Aaron Yates did it after winning a 600 race, and now I heard somebody else doing them on my bike..... WTF! I will probably never do 12's unless I get a stunt bike, but Bunny Hops would just be cool as hell.

Later,
Jay

I've heard an account where someone I knew saw a guy do it on a 97-98 gsxr7. Almost as if he lifted the front a bit, then shoved it forward while dumping the clutch again quickly. And did a little hop. I guess it seems possibly if you imagine it that way.

That's what it looked like to me too... I guess I just have to get out there and try it myself, I was just looking for some pointers.

hey, I got all this stuntin on lock, but in 1999 when i was a 17 year old squid on my 1991 zx7, which was geard NASTY, 2 down 7 up(ex race bike) , I went to BANG a standup in 2nd, but I was in first, and it snapped up like FAST, i chopped the throttle, and it felt wierd as it slammed down blowin both fork seals. when I parked it, all my buddys watchin looked like ghost with all thier jaws on the floor. I said "what?" and they all said my back tire was like a foot and a half off the ground. completely airborn like a bunny hop. I bullsh*ted and told em I did it on purpose, hehehehe, and to this day my boys ask me how I did that, but I honestly have no clue, and dont care to try it again.

I've seen DamienC6 (back in the DTE days) do a bunny hop on his ol' gixxer 7-fiddy. Actually he could probably do anything on that bike, it was part of him.

It's easier to do bunnies out of a stoppie. As soon as you get your back wheel up lean and pull your handle bars back like your swtiching from a stoppie to a wheelie.(remember you learning over your gas tank when applying the stoppie to shift more weight).stright off two wheels???? You'll need to hit a gym, but Bunning ****s your bike up to hell. I advise you not to do it unless your planing on buying a new bike.

I would practices on a heavy *** mountain bike, I perfer a Huffy since they are heavy as **** or ATV

this is just a quess but i would think that first you wheelie. them if you can compress the back a bit and nail the gas as the fron starts to come down the back shock will top out hard. It will help if you dial in more rebound. ( motorcycles have a tendencey to top out the back shock when hard on the gas. it has to do with the Gometry of the chain and swing arm( and some other stuff)
Just for reffrence this is exactly the opposite that a car does. Hope this helps.

I did it a couple days ago going over a speedbump. It's easy as hell that way. Just clutch it right as your front tire touches the bump....

Yeah, but a real bunny hop should happen on flat ground. I guess I will be the dick and say it can't be done until someone posts the clip of someone doing it.
