F4i Hydro Locked
When out riding today at my buddies lot i let him ride it for abit but it was wet out and he high sided i heard the bike was still running I tried to tell him shut it off but i was to far away then i just heard the bike die . picked it up 10 seconds later and try starting it and it wasn't doing anything and oil started leaking from i dont know where. So we Pulled it in and it had alittle bit of oil in the air box . we unplug the spark plugs and see if it will try make the starting noise but nothing . What can i do? Will it help leaving it over night see if the oil goes down ? i never had my bike hydro lock before so i dont know what to do. Help me out this motor has 4000 miles i wouldnt like replacing the motor already

Re: F4i Hydro Locked
I had bad hydro lock before that wouldn't drain on it's own.
I pulled and changed the plugs. A short time later I had a rod knock. My fault from trying to turn over the motor over while it was hydro locked.

I would pull all the plugs, drain the oil and do not try and turn the bike over until you can crank it over by hand manually. You may bend a rob trying to turn the bike over while its hydro locked. Once you can turn it by hand with a socket on the crank, then install new plugs and start her up. Had the same thing happen to my old gixxer.

Re: F4i Hydro Locked
ive had this happen. take the spark plugs out and use one of those vacuum hoses to stick down there and vacuum the oil out. the thinner the hose tube the better. or you can go ghetto style and with the spark plugs out, hit the start button. itll shoot the oil out the top. make sure you cover it with a towel or something or youre gonna shoot oil about 20 feet up in the air.. LOL. no wait, tell your friend to do that and dont tell him what its gonna do. itll be funny as hell. hahaha
and we've done this like 3 times back in the day and the bike ran fine afterwards. this was before the "clean air mod" discovery

Yeah only if i knew about the Clean Air mod this would never happened . I hit the start button and it only cranks one time then it makes a weird whining sound

Re: F4i Hydro Locked
....clean air mod and removal of the tip over sensor as I still love that wheelie sensation!!! The clean air mod will give you better low end for two reasons ... this is why racers love it.....
1- you don't get any of the hot oily air from the crank case in your airbox---Take an automotive spray gun, The air blowing by the small jet pulls paint from the canister and doesn't blow pressure into the can...... Same thing here, the exhaust blows by and pulls the hot air / oil from the crancase with it...
2- by hooking the crankcase vent tube up to the clean air valve it creates a vaccum in the crank case and that is good for a few extra horse power and a couple foot pounds of torque...a user on one of the other forums I am on advised..."it makes the bike better all around and alot of people agree ,i have even seen dyno test that show increased torque and horse power" The stunters love it because it prevents a hydrolock situation from the bike being on its side and oil being dumped into the airbox from the breather tube....it has been argued over and over and proven, this is a great mod with no bad side effects whatsoever.... This is what it looks like stock....the directions are a bit confusing, throw 3 away, and hook 1 2 and 4 to the new t....
The pair valve removed.... 1/2" Tee...it was very tight, had to vaseline the hoses to get them on, but better than too loose.... Here is a pic of the t with the hoses..... How I sealed the airbox off, I have seen many methods, but looking around the garage I realized that some old tire valve cover caps fit perfectly and are hard enough to hold, through them in with a little epoxy and they were solid and fit perfect, looks factory... Also here is the tipover sensor mod as well.... just cut that damn thing out and never worry about it again.... With windscreen off... Remove the 2 screws holding the box in and disconnect the box... Here it is removed and unclipped.... Cut off the connector and make sure there is enough room to reconnect if you want to reinstall in the feature, tie red and green together and cap white off....and clip back in....

Re: F4i Hydro Locked
what he said, let it spin for at least 10 sec. and put it back together. If it still sounds fucked then it probably is. if it locked and you kept trying to start it, you bent a rod.
