06 636 noise

i usually know whats goin on but im a lil confused... ill start with the fact that my bike had 5k when i bought it mint a year and a half ago now its been though a ton of abuse so im not surprised but just want to know what it could be, it makes a k k k sound when i dump he clutch in first to wheelie but im pretty sure its not the clutch and when im in second and i accelerate from idle to high rpms to roll a stoppie right about 3-5k it makes the same sound. it kinda sounds like valves or timing chain to me but any advice is appreciated thanks

o and when im riding idle doin circles when i squeeze then release the hb it takes like 2-3 seconds for the idle to pick back up

Re: 06 636 noise

honestly its hard to say without hearing it... but from what you are saying it sounds like its a sloppy valve train... just like you are thinking... it probably needs to have the valves adjusted etc...

at first i thought maybe gearbox noise... but that wouldnt make it hesitate to re-catch the idle...

sorry i couldnt help more bro

last thought... any chance the lower end bearings are taking a ****... if they start to go the bike will hesitate too... but that is more of a knocking sound and the motor usually gets real bad quickly once you hear and feel that...

Re: 06 636 noise

Its because you have a plastic tank and your muffler bearings are starting to go out.

Re: 06 636 noise

Johns right, if it is a Rod Bearing You'll know in about two or three more runs with it because it will let go. So for your sake I hope it's the Valvetrain. Get someone who know their **** to listen to it. It's easy to tell the difference in the sound and where it's coming from.

Re: 06 636 noise

if it was a valves the noise would just get worse, if it was a rod bearing the noise would get worse.. it would not go away at any rpm..

seriously sounds dumb, but if u scrape your muffler alot and the ***** sorta blocked.. its going to run like crap and cause to much back pressure. and if it is the timing chain you will only hear the noise on the right side of the motor.

Also Try Some Electrical Flush.
