Radiator repair
Iwas trying to uncrunch my fan shroud and I poked a hole in the radiator near the top left side.Any possible way to save it ? It was a flathead screwdriver that punctured it.

Re: Radiator repair
very easy to fix. take a flat screwdriver and push in the fins around where the leak is(so you can see the entire hole) dont disrupt the coolant tubes that holds the water. use a propane torch(a small one from a hardware store works great) and very slowly heat up the area of the hole, (be very carefull to not completely melt the metal it will changeshape if it gets too hot). just heat it up until it starts to get soft.
once it gets soft you have two choices
1. simpily use pliers and clamp that part of the coolant tube together, dont clamp the entire tube (just the hole) and once it cools it will seal it. this will stop the leak, but it will block some of the coolant flow in that tube. if you doit to much on the radiator it will not perform as well.
2 use aluminum brazing rod and just glaze the tube with the rod until the hole is covered. you need to heat it up enough to melt the brazing rod. this takes skill and is very easy to mess up but is a permanet fix and the wright way to fix it
