can the radiator fan "burn" out?

i let the bike heat up to 137 and it didn't go on...then i tried grounding it, again, it didn't turn on.

connected both the ground AND the positive to an EXTERNAL 12v source, didn't turn on.

do i need a new fan or wat?

Re: can the radiator fan "burn" out?

I've heard that people that hotwire them so they run non stop burn them out.

Mine stopped workin on my gixxer and I bought a whole new radiator and fan assembly off ebay, put it on and it still didn't work. Ends up it was the damn fuse.

you say that you wired it up to an outside source tho, sounds like you need a new fan hmmmmmmmmmm.

Check your fuse anyways for ***** and giggles

bought a new fan for $50, installed it, didn't work!

turned out it was a wiring issue somewhere in/around the fuse box....i have a seperate fuse box for it now. kicks on at like 220

...and a spare working fan.:YEAH

Wire the spare to a switch and the battery. It will come in handy during the summer at the lot.
