bleeding brakes?

i've been fighting air in my lines for a long time, and have been trying the normal pump the lever and crack the bleeders with no luck any ideas? tried the search but it was useless.

Re: bleeding brakes?

try just leaving the bleeder open and holding your fingure over the hole ,it will allow the fluid and air to come out but won't let any air in ....

it also doesn't give any air bubbles time to go back up the line like when you do the old pump pump pump open method, just make sure to keep the res full and tighten the bleeder when you have the lever held down when you stop to fill the res

Re: bleeding brakes?

i put a hose on the end of the bleeder and run it down into a cup of brake fluid. that saves any mess also.

Re: bleeding brakes?

yep that works too just keep pumping till there are no more air bubbles [clear hose helps to see the bubbles]
