Bike got wet, now it's DEAD !!PLZ HELP!!
So, Friday, while I was gone, my bike (1992 GSXR 600) got rained on. When I tried to start it today, the dash lights, headlights, everything came on, until I hit the starter button, then EVERYTHING died. Now when I put the key in the ignition, and turn it on, NOTHING at all happens. No dash lights, headlights, nada. Also, I put a voltmeter on the battery(which is only about 6 months old) and got a reading of about 12.2 volts, UNTIL I turn the key to on, then the voltage drops down to about .990. If anybody has any ideas, PLEASE shoot them my way. I already miss my bike!
Thanks guys!

Re: Bike got wet, now it's DEAD !!PLZ HELP!!
charge your battery, then use that volt meter to see if the bike is charging the battery while it's running .........it should be around 13 to 14 volts when it's running at about 3 or 4 thousand rpm's
if it's below that then you may need a rectifier
if it's below that then you may need a rectifier

UPDATE:
I bought a battery this morning, dropped it in, and all of the lights came on. Hit the starter button, & nothing happened... So, I jumped the starter solenoid across with a screwdriver & it cranked right up. I'm assuming the solenoid is dead, so I am in the process of just hooking up a switch to jump the solenoid to start it...Just for now, until I can get another solenoid. Once again, thanks for all of the help.
