clutch cable with db bars
are you guys with db bars running stock f4i clutch cables or some other bikes?
how are you running the stock cable? and do I need to switch any other cables? thinking of going db bars and want to make sure I've got everything.

Re: clutch cable with db bars
I was wondering this too. I just got a f4I with db bars and the cable is getting shitty. I had been on 03 636's where the stock cable is plenty long.
CB599 or 919 cable work?

If you go for Renthal Ultra Low road bars (758) aka the Scary Gary Bars... everytthing reaches fine... most MX bars are too straight and the throttle cables etc usually don't reach.. trust me I've tried!
So if you want to go with renthal bars the easiest way, get some ultra lows, they feel great , bit like turned out clip ons but a bit higher.. and everything reaches fine.

Yep I'm running scary gary bars.. I love them a lot, positioning is very much like clip ons, but a bit higher and slightly wider. I tried some TAG mx bars but they were too straight and the throttle cables didn't reach, they do feel nice, but you can't beat the ultra low bars... I'd reccomend you get a brace for them, you don't *need* a brace, but makes them a bit stronger and its more comfortable for HC etc.
Everything reaches fine, but the throttle cables need re-routing from between the fork to just coming out from the tank and onto the bars. Get "normal" height bar risers.. if you get extended ones or high bar risers the throttle cables probably won't reach.
Oh and get some renthal 7/8th bar end weights for added protection of your throttle tube and levers.. I smashed a throttle tube without the bar end weights, but now with the weights I've had no problems...

Re: clutch cable with db bars
well, I got the scary gary bars on. I'm on the fence with this one. It's my first db setup from turned out/flipped vortex clip-ons. Kind of miss my clip-ons...lol Guess I'll need a few more sessions with the db's to get used to them.
