Front tyre pressures... + stoppie set up
What are you lot running on the front for stoppies??
Is there anything I can do to make the bike better for stoppies? I'm starting to roll them quite nicely, fairly high I think but not BP yet. only getting around 100 or so ft at most. I am starting to control the bike a lot better and can get around 90* turns also learning to stop the back end veering round .. I don't have a damper though and I've set the forks to about as stiff as they will adjust to?
Any tips would be cool.

yo sparks, what i did to make the forks better for cheap was put 15w oil in, 462 ml per fork. then mess with the settings a bit (comp not to stiff, rebound stiff). also steel lines, stock or sintered nissin pads are very nice!

What front end options are there for the f4i? I know the 929 and 954 fit in easily? (forks, wheel, calipers, triple tree) but they are hard to get and expensive in England. what other options are there?
I found today that I've bent my front wheel and both discs so it's either replace it with f4i bits or go for a different front end. I really love stoppies and want to improve at them, I don't expect a USD front end to make me a stoppie god but I don't want to have to re-spend the money 6 months down the line when I might really benefit from the USD front end, so wondered if it was worth upgrading now as I am in need of front wheel/discs and brake lines anyways....

Too low and you cant steer (well its a lot harder)
Too high and you have less traction for pickup and more likelyhood of headshake...
key is to find where YOU are comfortable, and where your bike/suspension/tire setup is happy...
Somewhere between 18-26 is a good place to start... play with different psi's to see what works best for you...

i did the rc51 swap this weekend. they are longer than the 929/54 and 1000rr so more stable..
and an usd will not improve stoppie SKILLS at all.

I know they won't da liks, but people obviously change the front for a specific stoppie related reason. If I have to spend out on a f4i front end then realise I'd have been better getting a 954 front end I'd be a bit dissapointed. If that makes sense I gotta check my f4i forks aren't bent tomorow... so will see about prices f4i compared to 954 etc and see whats available.

Re: Front tyre pressures... + stoppie set up
most definitely get a steering damper ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!dont go cheap on that one either.. do it up good!
i got the rc51 setup now and the suspension IS better, and it is more stable all around. it also brakes harder cuz of the bigger rotors so you have to adjust to that. but i think its great so far!

Re: Front tyre pressures... + stoppie set up
I'll get a damper as soon as I can afford, I can't even afford the discs at the minute let alone the front wheel.. looking at least £200 eek.
Do any other model/year wheels fit the f4i standard forks etc?
