Re: f4i idle problem

are you sure that the problem is from the idle cable? (it might be ur gas/return cables)

well, i think itd be best if you wait for some other ppl to reply cause i'm not sure what it could be.

reason i brought up gas/return cables was because i was trying to install a new throttle tube today and i couldn't get the return cable in its place so i tried leaving it out(not connecting it) to see what would happen...i could gas it but right when i let off, the bike just turned off. (like i hit the kill switch)

this could also happen if you previously had a pinch in the return cable.

but again, before opening up the throttle assy, wait for some more replies. (it took me 2.5 hrs to put it back together)

Re: f4i idle problem

it shouldnt it should just unscrew and fall out if you take it out too far, when you start the bike will it idle? does it just die once you give it gas then let off, or do you need to stay in the gas to keep it running right from the get go?

Answered your own question. You backed the cable off until it fell out.

Re: f4i idle problem

id check the throttle cable return lines etc like saaid above, check the stock idle cable but if you didnt mess w/ that it should be cool if it ran before, try to bump the idle up and see if it stays runnin

Re: f4i idle problem

the 2nd idle cable only turns down so far wont make the bike stall, i dont think anyways if you turn mine down to the stock idle you can keep turning and it wont go any lower it just falls out
