Re: Paint Tips

it cracks? or does it fish-eye? kinda like wrinkles up? Try cleaning the area with mineral spirits or laquer thinner before painting it again to remove all oils and what not

Re: Paint Tips

make sure it's sanded in that spot good enough then wash it like cisco said to get any oils off it, then dry it with a clean paper towel and try the paint again

Re: Paint Tips

if it's wrinkling then there is oil on the surface, use laquer thinner, it is your friend!

Re: Paint Tips

you're pretty much fuked. time to strip the tank and repaint. Whoever did the last paint job on the tank didn't get the mix ratios right and the paint didn't cure properly or your tank has too many layers of paint on it-the solvents in your new paint are stripping off the old paint. Don't waste your time trying to "fix it". You'll be way further ahead just starting over take it from someone who's been there.
