I just bought an 00 F4 today. I took off the front cowl and side fairings. Gonna run her with no fairings until I find some crunchy ones to put back on her. While stripping her down I found a hose that I have no idea what it is. I had to disconnect it to get the front cowl off the bike. It looks like some kind of air hose to me. On the bike end do I leave it open and put some kind of filter on it or do I plug it off. Here is a pic of it.

It was spliced onto another hose, I am not sure where it goes. The other end goes into where the engine is, but I can't see what it connnects to. I found something about a pair mod but it was on an F4I not an F4. Does the F4 have a simular set up? I'll try and get a pic of the hose on the bike tomorrow.

ok so what i got from the manual..is that it is a air vent hose..?
thats pretty much all i got..

so can I take the hose off and just cap off the inlet to the airbox, or will that mess things up.

Doesn't the end on the bike need to be cancelled? If I'm rememebering well this hose goes to the filter box...
