bike prep 101?
alright since Im looking to get into this I know basically what is involved. Bolt on cage, weld on 12 bar and eventually some motocross bars and left hand rear brake.
I know your supposed to run low air pressure in the tires. Ive also heard of running rear wheels w/o the cush drive. What are the advantages of this and is there any other major thing that Im overlooking when it comes to prepping a stunt bike?
Oh yea duh! and a big a$$ rear sprocket. How big should I go? most use sizes in the 50s-60s correct? Ive seen 72 but I think it would make the bike too sensitive/twitchy.
Thanks for any help/advice.

Re: bike prep 101?
forget about the crush drive crap. I would suggest not the 12 bar on, just bolt it up. get a sprocket thats bigger but not huge if you just learning how to wheelie +5-6 teeth on the rear......you didn't mention what kind of experience you have so I'll assume that your brand new.....the hand break in unnessasary until you learn how to wheelie and control the rear break with your foot....
good luck

Re: bike prep 101?
practice practice practice and you will figure out what tire pressure works best for you, people run anywhere from 10 psi to 30 and it all depends what you like, my sleep number lol stunt number is 22 psi and as far as the sprocket goes it all depends on if you still want the bike to be streetable, otherwise yeah go with a 60 but dont go any bigger like a 66 or 72, thats rediculous and wayyy too much.

Re: bike prep 101?
thanks for the advice. I have 3 yrs experience on the street w/ my first bike I bought when I was 16. The Z1000. As for stunting the only experience is a few times when I got a wheelie up and down to maybe 45 degrees. Didnt have the ***** to do it with a bike that I bought brand new and have never dropped. I enjoy carving twisty country roads on that bike (using all the tire). Now im excited to get something that I can f' up and still go to sleep at night.
*I dont plan on driving the stunt bike on the street at all.*

Re: bike prep 101?
wasnt trying to offend anyone. I just was trying to explain that I dont use it as a bike to show off/ cruise around on the beach or fly down the highway at 150. I was explaining what type of riding I enjoy on THAT bike and what I plan on doing w/ a second bike.
