06 gxr idle

My buddy just got a wreked 06 gxr and the idle seems to do whatever it wants. It works fine when the bikes not moving but soon as you do a wheelie it ajust itself. Is there any way to fix that.

On the inside of the fairing theres a screw which you can turn to adjust the idle - thats how i've been doing it anyway. Dont remember which side of the bike its on but its there. You can see it when you look.

Re: 06 gxr idle

yeah we ajusted the idle but it won't keep a steady idle. like if we set it at 3000 rpm it will idle fine until you do a wheelie then it idle's it self down.

Re: 06 gxr idle

My friend has the same problem with his 04/05 GSXR 600, no matter what weve done we cant get it to stay steady on idle. And from what Ive read here its 50/50 half the people have the same problem and the other half dont, and no one has an answer on how to fix it.....Its pissed him off to the point he just said **** it and we bought a 750 motor to replace the 600....

I know exactly what your problem is....You set the idle to 3000 pop it up and as soon as it starts to settle the idle drops down to 2000.....The when you come down and blip the throttle it jumps back up to 3000, but as soon as you try and get it steady it drops back down....

Sorry dude but Ive been looking for an answer to this for a year and nobody has one

Re: 06 gxr idle

could it have something to do with the tre mod? timing retard eliminator or factory ignition retard eliminator? or the lack therof this mod? i know it made a difference on my 03 750

Re: 06 gxr idle

suzuki uses different map during neutral gear and when the clutch is pulled. ->compared to situation when it's on gear.

so if you adjust the idle with neutral or with clutch pulled(gear on). it's gonna change when you put on the gear or release the clutch.

you could try to hot wire the clutch wire, so it thinks the clutch is pulled the whole time. maybe not best for power, because the neutral map is probably not made for max power, but it could help with the idle. just put some switch that lets you to switch is off and on.
