well, i'm not hitting it yet, but i haven't had it on but one night so i haven't practiced with it. I want to do slow parking lot stuff so i'm going to need it sometime.
what do you all do to get used to it and how to you get over that first hump of touching the ground for the first time?

put cages on your motor ,wear your gear. gear up your bike at least thee up on the rear, stand stagger step, go as slow as possible while riding straight ,give it a little throttle , pop the clutch try to lean back a little , hope for the best, if the bike starts to fall to the side make sure your legs aren't going to get crushed . if you put cages on your bike try again if not replace your stator cover ,foot pegs , levers or engine then try again. good luck

ya, i'm going to cage it probably next week. My new sprockets are 1 down in front and 5 up in the rear...that should be enough i guess.
i'm just nervous cause this bike handles differnet than my yellow 929 so it's weird being on it.

Definitely drop your tire pressure in the rear. Don't be afraid, but don't be over confident. You need to think about what you are going to attempt, plan it out, picture it in your head. Then give it a shot. The key to this trick from my experience is definitely repetition. The more you try it the more you'll figure it out. I hate to tell you this, but you will definitely drop your bike a few times!! Good luck brother!!!

ok, i think it's getting used to this new bike, it feels different and the gearing is still stock. on my other bike that has 1 down front 2 up rear (my show bike) i can almost drag tail (momentarily). My rear tire on the stunt bike is ****ed also, it is out of round or something cause it wobbles.
what do you guys suggest for bailing out when i do mess up? i figured just jump backwards.

Well, I have an answer since I just found out about that last week. Your only going 10-15 miles an hour so you can fall back and maybe run it out. If not, don't hold on, the bike might hit you or you might drag for awhile.

12 Bar
Hey
I'm trying to 12 myself and have been thinkin of adding a 12 Bar looks like its best not to bother until you've mastered it!
Also Its not going to be nice if it comes forward on you if you trash a Stoppie.
Now after reading the replys here I'm not bothering with a 12 bar for a while.

ya, i worry about that thing when i do endo's but i guess that's what i'll have to deal with it.
i really didn't want it for 12's but for other stunts i wanted to learn like ape hangers.

Never twelved a bike B-4 but to get over the fear and get a feel for it hop on a quad and drag the wheelie bar while covering the rear brake MAKE SURE YOU USE IT drag the bar and use the rear brake to bring the quad back forward then let off brake get back on gas and drag bar again do this over and over untill you get the mechanics of this down and it will help you mentally.

Oh, I crashed a twelve and am now really freaked out about it. I can't even ride it out slow now. It's like now when I pull in the clutch my throttle hand won't go past a certain distance, some pshycological thing I guess.

Sorry, don't have IM. I'm at work most of time and they won't let us get IM and other stuff. Anyways, I didn't put a bar on first cause pretty much everyone here has said to just try without a bar. I was getting em pretty good. I have an 02 R1 with stock gearing. Riding them out at like 15mph when I just let one go all the way back. It fell to the side and hit the big slider and jumped in the air a little then came down again hard on the top of the bike. It broke every mount in the front fairing. It cracked the fairing stay and broke all the brackets in the heahlamp assy. But, that was pretty much it. No engine damage.
