Best Front End replacement for F4i

So, Im gonna put a new front end on the f4i. I have had a 954 front end and it was nice but it took me 5 sets of forks to find a set that wasnt screwed up internally. Either they were different heights (forks) or had different spring rates.

But, I was wondering what would be the best: 954, 1000rr, 600rr, rc51?

Post up your opinions. Thanks.

1000rr with 954 lower tripple is what i been hearing, after learning how to rebuild forks my self i would deff just drop money into building the f4i forks. good oil and internals can do alot.

Yeah, but I hear they blow seals easy. I want to do the rc51 but they have been going for $700-1000 on ebay.

Re: Best Front End replacement for F4i

any fork will blow seals under abuse, just run em soft and keep them clean when ur doing whoolies and stiffen them up for stoppies if your that hardcore

Re: Best Front End replacement for F4i

Ok, I guess another question is: out of all the Honda front ends, which one's are the best for stoppies? i.e. spring rates, braking power, ect.

Im asking these questions because Im building up an f4i and I want to do my homework and get everything perfect.

If I go with 600rr, can I use the 600rr lower triple? Or do I have to use a 954 one?

Re: Best Front End replacement for F4i

u gotta use 600rr lower on 600rr forks, 929/954/1000rr/rc51 lowers are all the same diameter but the 1000rr lower turn stop's are to close so u gotta grind them off or use 929/954 lower with 1000rr forks.

i was thinking of getting my f4i forks built up by a company called noleen, do u think stock f4i forks built would be as good or better than new style forks.

I believe they will, but i would sell them and try n get ahold of 03-04 600rr forks and have those built. they are just more dialed IMO, cause honda put alot of effort in making the 600rr a bad *** race bike and spent more engineering on those forks.

Re: Best Front End replacement for F4i

my homie has 05 600rr on his ****, it feels nice, but i dont kill stoppies like him

on my 1000 the **** is hella grabbier than 92954 setup, i dont think i would want that on my stunter, feels more forgiving when poppin the back up

I love my stock front end.. If anything put some +1 springs and call it a day... They'll never blow seals

Re: Best Front End replacement for F4i

Question. After putting on a 929/954 front end can you still leave you upper fairing on, or do you have to go streetfighter?

You can keep everything. Your clutch and brake will hit sometimes if you turn real sharp. I did it and had no problems.

Re: Best Front End replacement for F4i

i agree that a built f4i front end can be just as good as a swapped one as far as suspention goes, however, i KNOW the f4i forks are more prone to twisting and bending etc and that has to account for something down the line, hell even beefy *** 954 forks flex a little.

To me, when i roll endos on stock f4i front ends, i see the wheel turn and move a little, when my hands are locked, i can see this leading to a slap...
