929 clip-ons on top of triple tree

Just wondering if anyone has put aftermarket clip-ons on top of the triple tree on a steerfightered or full fairing 929. If so is any modification needed, and does this have any adverse effect on the bike. Mines fightered.

Re: 929 clip-ons on top of triple tree

it would need to drop the forks through the triples and a lot. It changes the bikes geometry to more front biased and makes it prone to tank slappers and the steering is faster.

if you go with aftermarket clip ones, get helibars, they are mounted like the stock ones but still are lot higher, straighter and little bit more wide and to the back.

Re: 929 clip-ons on top of triple tree

I put mine on top on my 750 and i like it, but when i adjusted my 1000 I raised the rear with spacers to get it to handle better and steer quicker, it seems to be about the same. the amount i dropped the front on one bike and raised the rear on the other one sooooooooooooooo not much diff. Feels a little diff. on stoppies, but no problems

I am qurious how it works for others, i haven't had it like this long ??

anyone else runnin clip on's up top ?

Re: 929 clip-ons on top of triple tree

Leave the forks where they are in the triple and put 05-06 636 clipons underneath but flipped.

Re: 929 clip-ons on top of triple tree

I got some GSXR clip-ons on top the triple and don't think I like it! They're flipped and all that, real similar to the 636 clip-ons. But the geometry difference is a lil too much. The front end, even with a hyperpro still doesn't feel stable over 200' on the front wheel, and the cage has a tendency to bottom out really easy when setting down endos at a dead stop. I'm gonna try to put them below the triple and keep them flipped so they still angle up and see how that works.

954 stock ones are quite raised up, but then angled down. I think those 636 are lower then stock, but they are just straighter. so it's more like dirtbike bar. but low.
