My son has a 96 z50r Honda. The top end needs to be rebuilt. Looking at prices, The Lifan motors and the big bore kits look like a good way to go with an upgrade. Will I be better off with the later or should I rebuild stock? Are the the after market upgrades good and if so which ones. The price to rebuild is about the same as the upgrades. More power is a plus, but not if I have to rebuild in 6 months. Any input is appreciated.

if u want more power u might as well upgrade if u got the funds to do so cause yur gonna have it apart anyway. pretty easy o do

build up the stocker 50stunt sells some good big bore kits I had the 88 and I gave it hell for about a year and sold the bike and its still runnin strong

You can get a SIKK MX 125cc motor for like $400 brand new.Will bolt right in

What do you want to use it for? For stunts I prefer a stock motor, if its not for stunting get a bore kit....Theres so many different kits nowadays their cheap.
