96 gixxer 750, clutch release screw

I can't get power to my rear tire, thought it was the clutch, took it apart and it looks fine. Took of the sproket cover and found the release screw in pretty rough shape. All the ball bearings fell out when I removed it.( I found all them) The specs say that this should have 1 1/4 turn, what do they mean by this. When I pull my clutch in, this screw only rotates about a 1/2 turn. Is this my problem? The rods that it pushes on slide nicely though to the cluth springs. Can somebody help me clear this up?

thanks

Oh, ya, has anybody ever had to replace the diaphram clutch springs on there gixxer?
