636 Shock Assembly Installation...HELP ASAP

I had to strip everything off of the frame to send it out and have it straightened because it was creased behind the steering stem. I am reinstalling the shock assembly and I need to know the following:
Do I install the assembly before or after the engine has been put back in?
Do I torque the nuts/bolts all the way down?
Any help would be greatly appreciated ASAP I wanna get this mother effer in one piece so I can get uponone!

It's a 2004 636...

I'd put the shock in before you put the motor in. Just torque them down to spec.
