Coolant

What kind of coolant should I put in the F2? And what ratio?

If your going to say something dumb/gay/pointless just dont make it something to confuse me cause this is like my first liquid cooled bike cause I never changed it in my CR250.

Re: Coolant

depends, how hot is it out where you live?

If it's no where near freezing this time of year id do 4/1 water/coolant

if it gets near freezing in the winter switch to 1/1

Re: Coolant

just drain it best you can, take the bottom hose off the radiator.

then fill it with a 50/50 mix cause that should keep it plenty cool in NY and will keep it from freezing in the winter.

Re: Coolant

Just run full engine ice, no water mixed in it. It makes a world of difference.

To flush it, go to your local grocery store, and buy about 3 or 4 gallons of DISTILLED water. Fill up your radiator with it and let it run till it reaches about 190 degrees. Turn it off and let it cool down, then unhook the hose that goes to your water pump and let the hot water drain out. Do that about 2 or 3 times, or until you can see just water flushing out...

Re: Coolant

yeah full engine ice fo show , but you can also unscrew the bottom bolt of your water pump and it wil drain the fliud you dont want much quicker, filling it up , running the bike and then draining it works but takes alot longer , drain it from the lowest source , ( full engine ice )

Re: Coolant

Engine ice comes premixed with distilled water. All you have to do is drain your old fluid out, flush it with water, then just pour engine ice in. Everywhere i have seen it sold, it says it comes premixed with distilled water.
