F4i Front End Swap ???

i'm looking to swap out my stock 02 f4i front end for a 05 600RR front end. has anyone did this yet? is there anything i'll need to buy to make it work? i know the 929/954 swap you need a bushing/spacer or something. any help is appreciated!

Can you still keep the lights and front of a 954 if you do the swap or is it a street fighter?

i've seen the 929 front end on the f4i with full fairings on more than one bike. so i don't see why any other bike would be different.

different steering neck. the bearing outer diameter and the steering stem are both different sizes. you would have to have custom head bearings made to match the f4i tube and the inner match the diameter of the 636 steering stem. That is if the head tube isn't a different length either.

just buy a 929 front end, it bolts right on and will cost about the same as the 636, and it works better.

take some measurements and find out. if you have the front end and a set of calipers (measuring calipers) then all you have to do is check it all out and see. i've never tried it, they might work just fine. never know without checking

Re: F4i Front End Swap ???

you could probably use the 636 fork tubes, just find teh honda that has the correct size triple clamps. A 45mm fork is a 45mm fork. Just find out what it is and find the matching honda one. Shouldn't be too tough.

DWJmoto will become famous soon enough
Re: F4i Front End Swap ???

I think the 636 fork tubes will fit the 929 triple with spacers
