Help! F4 1999 carb problems

Hi there,

I'm rebuilding a 99 F4 to a stuntbike.

Now i've heard about a problem whith stoppies and wheelies whith this bike because of the carbs??

Does anyone know more about this problem and how to solve it?

Thanks a lot!

The shutoff valve works great for stoppies. The setup costs about $6 and is easy to hook up. I have the valve attached to the subframe on the left side, right behind my knee. Now when i do stoppies i just turn off the gas before i speed up. You can run it for a few minutes with the gas turned off before it starts to loose power. After i do a few stoppies, i turn the gas back on for a little while. I can practice stoppies for over an hour strait now and the bike still runs great. If i don't turn the gas off the bike will die on the first or second stoppie and will run like **** for 20min.

Oh and the carbs are fine for wheelies. Even on the bar it doesn't sputter before the oil light comes on.

Oke. I recieved an e-mail whitch sayd that just turning the fuel pump off isn't enough.

Until now the only solution is to close your fuel line whith a valve.

I'm going to inform if it's possible to do this whith a swith and a electric(magnetic) valve. Hope it possible and not to expensive.
