stuntex oil pickup help

stuntex oil pickup help
02 f4i. just got my stuntex oil pickup and attempted to install it but have a question. should the metal gasket have a bow in the middle of it when bolted up? it doesnt seem to want to sit flat, it seems to not go up far enough where it meets the oil pick up.

i had to trim the little half moon part a little bigger w/ a dremmel to fit better around the pick up tube.

couple others have done this as well...
