Need help w/ Motor ASAP!
having a bit of problems with my motor... 04' yamaha R6
just had to put a new cylinder head on from it getting cracked in a wheelie crash.
-put it all back together following factory service manual specs... yadahh yadahh yadahh...
-first couldn't get it to start at all, just crank andcrank with an ocassional backfire.
-took it all apart again, checked the timing, seems dead on, everything else seemed good...
-finally flushed the gas tank relizing i probably got too much **** gas(87 octane) from filling a jerry can up at a pump with only the single hose.
-so did all that, flushed the fuel rail, cleaned the spark plugs. Motor FINALLY fired up, but was running rough as hell...
after shutting it down and starting it back up it would idle, but as soon as you would turn the throttle it would idle up to around 5,000 rpm and just sit there untill you shut it off.
any ideas????
would appreciate any input, need to get this thing up and running before tomarrow night, leaving from florida back home to ohio and need it running!!!!

Re: Need help w/ Motor ASAP!
when it's running rough, it usually it's not running all four cylinders, you can check this by touching the exhaust headers after start up, but don't burn yourself, they get hot fast. you can use wet rag or something to tough the headers, the ones that hiss are running.
you have probably airleak, disconnect vacuum hose or something like that.
