1998 ninja runs lean

I just got a 1998 Kawasaki ninja zx6 I changed the plugs and started to ride it for the first time. Well around 5-6k it studders and lacks power. When cruzing sometimes and go to jam on the throttle it also lacks power. I went home and pulled the plugs and found they were white running very lean. I decided maybe someone messed with the jetting and I went up from 135s to 142.5s and it still runs like crap. I cleaned the carbs up. Any ideas?

Re: 1998 ninja runs lean

could be fuel pressure/volume..

a ghetto way to test fuel pressure is to detach the fuel hose while you blow into the line, simulating strong fuel pressure. Ive diagnosed a couple bad fuel pumps that way. very ghetto but it works for me

if the bikes been sitting or never treated well u need to have the carbs synch'd... u need a card synch tool that messures the vacume to each carb and u match that vacume. google carb synch
