2 questions about F4i

Just picked up an 02 f4i. Ive been told that there is a cable (900rr i think?)to use for the idle adust and that it connects under the tank. Havent had the tank off yet. I would assume its pretty self explanatory, but can someone confirm this..

2nd question. To shorten a stock canister, is it best to shorten it from the end of the canister, or at the back by the midpipe? If i dont have to, Id like to not cut into the baffles to help keep it quiet. Thanks in advance....

Re: 2 questions about F4i

i may be wrong, but i was fooling around on my f4i last night, and i think the idle adjuster thingy is down low, near the overflow tubes that hang near the bottom

Re: 2 questions about F4i

Just get a 900 RR idle screw/cable and replace the one of the factory idle screws, with one off a the 900.

Below is a picture of a 900 cable installed on a F4i... Route the cable to your likeing.
You'll see what to do as soon as you take your airbox off.

Re: 2 questions about F4i

if ya wanna keep it quiet... cut the inlet end before the mounting tab.

only thing that sucks is your gonna have to re-weld the mount further up the can.

i've been through many stock pipes, and if you cut into the baffles it WILL get louder.
