Making a hole in the tank method ?
Okey, I ride a '92 F2, and it has some problems with running during idle wheelies en especially on the bar (DUH, they're carburated...)
But i've heard of a method, that was about making a little, tiny hole in the tank, so air can run in... I was told it helped out great !!
A while ago I talked with E-dub (Team OM) about it, but he couldn't hit me up with pictures Cause he was talking about he knew someone in French that was using this method... And I can understand it's pretty hard to let a frensch guy make pictures for me...
Then I heard Rus-Extreme knew some more about this method... I pm'ed him as well, but after 1 pm, he never wrote me back
Okay guys, I don't really blame you for that, in the pm's you both send me you really seemed nice, and were willing to help me out... I understand you guys are really busy with things and just didn't got the time to help me No hard feelings...
But now I was wondering, if anyone else knew something more about this method, and could hit me up with pictures, and "how-to's" Cause it seems to me, to be a verry tricky modification... But if it works, it's worth a try
I hope someone is willing to help me out

Re: Making a hole in the tank method ?
pretty simple really...
Towards the top/forward of the tank(think by the tripple) take a punch and a hammer, and pound a hole into the tank...not very big, like .25 inch, and JB weld a nut on there, so you can put a bolt in when not riding.
Or take the tank of, and do it the right way with a drill, then be sure to clean any metal chunks out before putting the tank back on..also the you can weld the nut on( BUT BE SURE TO PURGE THE TANK WITH ARGON TO REMOVE ANY GAS FUMES)

What's a "nut" ? I know squirls like nuts
And I also heard that some riders developed a system by using a small gas valve or something, so no gas could run out, and only air could come in ???
And does anyone has any pictures ??

No I wasn't kidding, see, I'm from Holland, so it's hard enough to understand everything you guys say Try to understand some Dutch sentences, I bet you do worse
But, please don't "forget" to make pictures man... I've heard it so many times: "I will make pictures for ya" but it never actually happened...
And I've helped out a couple of fellow stunters here on Stuntlife my own, by making pictures etc.
It's you're duty as a stuntrider to help fellow stunters out with their problems But seriously, it would really be appreciated...

i do run that kinda setup cuz bike stalls as soon as you goin further than the balance point if you don't turn the valve on the closed position, but then, you can ride about 2-3 mins this way...
i'll try to get a pic, but you can find it in any parts seller book, look at the gas section
here it is, i use a 8mm one

Re: Making a hole in the tank method ?
I dont think it will help.
If you wanna experiment, try this man take a rubber stopper in the gas cap, and drill a hole in the stopper. I have a rubber stopper for a gas cap and it works pretty good.
try installing a fuel pump, the F2 is the only CBR 600 without a fuel pump

Yeah I know, I'm busy installing a Fuell Pump, but I also want to know about this method...
And Tigroo, how did you mount that 8mm gas valve ??? Drilling a hole in the tank? And then ??

Re: Making a hole in the tank method ?
just rememeber your tank has a breather tube to compensate for that very reason, and to compensate for pressure changes due to fluid loss and pressure change.
