954 motor mount

My right top motor mount bolt stripped out. Has anyone ever drilled through it an put a nut and bolt instead? It looks like you could but i don't want to do it without finding out what other people have done. I don't want to put a heli-coil with my FI cage mounting there. It will probably just pull it out. Open for sugestions..............Thanks

Re: 954 motor mount

You can do the nut/bolt thing on the right side w/ out problems... carefull about torque, you don't wanna crack your head.

I've heard the heli-coils are actually stronger than the original threads if installed correctly.

cool, Thanks. I might try the heli-coil first. The person who had the bike before me used one and i went to put the FI cage on the bolt would not tighten.
