rookie stunna in distress!!
Alrite the rookie needs some help, so help me out. Associate of mine is selling his venom 55 tooth w/ a 525 pitch on his gsxr. I on the other have just have the 520 conversion on my gsxr. So what does a 525 pitch mean? an what do i have to do for it to fit my bike, just a new chain?or what?

Re: rookie stunna in distress!!
From the little amount of information that I can pull from my melon:
the first digit (5) is the pitch of the chain. the remaining two digits specify the thickness of the chain in 1/80 of an inch increment. So, a 525 chain is 25/80th of an ainch thick, while a 520 is 20/80 of an inch thick. So, with a 520 chain, you have a 520 sprocket. So, the 525 sprocket would not work with you chain since the sprocket would .31 inches thick while you chain is only .25 inches thick.

I wouldn't buy it, you'd have to buy a 525 chain, and compromise weight and throttle response..
Contact Phil at MotoHeaven to get a 520 sprocket.
