f4i not getting spark

im working on a buddys f4i,its not getting any spark FI primes and all that.but nothing from the plugs ive pulled them out and their not firing at all..heres what ive done..ive swaped the spark plug harness with the one on my bike which is good but no spark, swapped the spark plug coils and no spark, swapped spark plugs, nothing, swapped the CDI box and nothing, swapped the rectifier still nothing,i checked the plug harness with a test light and their all good, all the way down to the wiring harness still good.im stumped..the FI primes right up but the bike will not spark and all logic says it should..what am i over looking here? i also understand the bike took a major spill on the stator side but the stator cover was replaced..would a damaged stator cause it not to spark? its pissing me off i just want to hear the bike run..any ideas??

Re: f4i not getting spark

Nothing on the stator side would cause it, but check the pulse generator on the right side under the clutch cover. If anyone ever had the cover off, its easy to overlook plugging in the pulse generator connection. The plug is red, and its the only set of wires coming out of the clutch cover. The only other thing I can tell you to check is the ignition switch. If the bike ended up on its top, sometimes the key gets pushed in and it breaks the resistor in the switch, causing no spark. That would be the first thing I would check. Just plug your ignition in and I bet it will start. You can also check the switch by checking dc voltage at the pink wire. With the ignition on, you should get around 7 volts dc at the pink wire where it comes out of the ignition switch harness. Hope this helps.

Re: f4i not getting spark

i checked the pulse gen. it appears to be plugged in..anything else that would cause it not to get spark..im about to just swap out wiring harnesses to see if i can get this thing to run..
