ape cct for a f4i installation..
whats the easiest way to install and adjust it? or do i have to take the top of the motor off to check how tight the chains get? or can i just remove the old tensioner put the new in and just tighten it some and go from there? trying to go the easiest route here

When I used to ride a cbr 600 f2 I just installed the new tensioner and then tightened it only until it stopped making the horible chain slapping noise. I wouldn't tighten it anymore than that. I would guess it will be the same on your f4i... they can't be that much different.

yeah, what i was going to do. was just guna tighten it up until it gave resistance or somthing then back it off a few turns.. not sure if there is a special trick to it or not

I did it with just the tank and throttle bodies off.. was tricky but not impossible

Here's what an APE tech told me-
Get it adjusted to the point where it doesn't make the chain noise and no further!-then with the bike idling carefully tighten it while watching the tach. As soon as your idle drops slightly shut off the bike, back off the adjuster 2-3 turns and tighten the jamnut.
I installed mine by taking off the fairing and the tank, but like Dano said there's not much room. Just be patient it'll take awhile to get everything tightened up correctly.
