Re: Need help!

it could be a piece of rust or something out of the tank that got in one of the carbs. they may need cleaned. or the jetting could just be too rich. check the gas tank for evidence of rust.

Re: Need help!

definately sounds like a carb problem, unfortunately you might have to have the carbs cleaned and adjusted. lots of $$

Re: Need help!

That thing isnt worth the price of a carb rebuild. Dump it and get something newer. Old bikes arent worth having unless you know how to fix everything on it yourself.

Re: Need help!

you could have gotten a bandwagon f4i for 1500. I got the one in my avatar for 1300 with a clean title. 1500 is not cheap for a 92 gsxr 750 with a backyard paintjob. hah.

Re: Need help!

Most carb jobs are about $65 per carb in labor + parts.

Re: Need help!

seriously though. If that thing runs, sell it and get your money back for a couple reasons... When, not if, but when you blow that motor, the bike wont be worth a hundred bucks. You cant even part one of those out. It wont be easy finding another engine that is worth a damn to replace it either. Once you crash that thing you will never get any of your money back out of it. You can buy a salvaged f4i in straight and running condition for around 2Gs... stunt the ever living **** out of it and then sell it for 2500. all day long.

I'm not trying to be a **** or anything.. that just has bad decision written all over it.

If you like the bike, get the carbs fixed and have fun with it on the street and put some good miles on it out in the hill country. great riding out there.. make some crazy custom contraption out of it. Snag a bandit 1200 motor or an old gsxr 1100 motor and cram it in there. You can do it pretty easily compared to doing something similar on the newer bikes. Stunting that bike is definitely the wrong way to go.

If you want to get a cheap stunt bike pick up an 01-03 gsxr 600, f4, f4i, 99-02 r6 or something like that from a salvage auction. Hook up with Alan at sum of all parts down there and he can get you a deal on a cheap up-to-date shitbike.
