question re: blown motor

hey guys

i have an '02 f4i.. i rode it onto the 12 bar and went to do a burnout.. after about 15 seconds i start hearing some noise that was different than the normal motor running..

so i set the bike down.. at idle it was fine but when i started giving rpm it would make this knocking noise.. so i took it to a shop and one guy said it could be a cam-chain tensioner, but another tech came and said it was a rod bearing and that i would need a new motor (cheaper than to fix, really). unfortunately i can't remember the name of the part

anyway.. so i need to source a new f4i motor.. other than ebay can anyone recommend where to look? and would an f4 motor swap in without any hassle? or would a 1000rr engine or 954 engine or anything else fit in there?

thanks for your help

Re: question re: blown motor

dont know about the liter motors, but an F4 engine should fit in there fine because the F4 and the F4i are basically the same frame....your only prob with putting an F4 engine in there is that you are gonna be running a carbed motor instead of Fuel Injection...
