954 plastic on a 929?

Anyone know if the 954 plastic fit even close to a 929? I plan on using racing plastics... and I don't care if i need a little bit of work to get them to line up. Are they even close?

Re: 954 plastic on a 929?

here is my 929 with 954 plastics

https://www.stuntlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=151264

just a few cuts of the tail, it sits farther back on the 929 subframe than on the 954 subframe.

everything else bolts up. i have a custom fairing stay though.

Re: 954 plastic on a 929?

Here's a question I've been wondering for awhile:

Will a 929 gas tank fit on a 954?

Re: 954 plastic on a 929?

So if I use everything from the 954 (fuel pump, tank bracket, etc.), will it fit? I have no problem modifying things. I just don't want to waste money buying a 929 tank if it doesn't fit (i.e. too wide to fit frame, to deep to fit air box, etc.). I think 929 tanks dent much better than the 954. Any thoughts?

Re: 954 plastic on a 929?

Thanks. I appreciate the offer, but the next tank I'm denting. My current 954 tank was pre-dented and is not to my liking. I think everyone's dent is rider specific. haha!

Anyway, has anyone come up with a good way to keep the headlight tabs from breaking? I don't want something ridiculously cheap looking (i.e. 10-20 zip ties holding it on. The bike's streetfightered right now because of this). I was thinking a new headlight mount that actually bolts the headlight to the frame as opposed to the fairings. Anyone do this yet? If so, let's see pics.
