Tell Me I'm Not Alone

I've been riding for about a year and a half. I've been working on wheelies for probably a year now. I haven't had long practice sessions or anything, just hittin the backroads for practice when i can. The closest i've ever come to BP was when right before I scraped my exhaust and sent my bike for a tumble. It just seems liike everyone is pickin it up faster then me. WTF. I'm so ****in frustrated but I will never give up. My wheelies aren't wheelies. There poppies. Up two feet and down again. I guess im lookin for a little motivation. If you have to get on here and call a me a ***** ***** to get me goin, so be it. But why do I feel like the only one who can't get it? Am I wrong, is it just me, or am I the slowest progresser on this site. I know the technique, so it's not a technical help qustion, just a "why do suck *** so much ***?" question. Anyone else ever feel like they're goin knowhere? What do you do????
Thanks for your time

Re: Tell Me I'm Not Alone

The biggest favor you will ever do yourself will be as follows. Put your bike in a truck. Go where other people make wheelies.

I had the privilege of riding w/ the control coalition guys a couple years ago and learned more that afternoon than I had in a year tearing up the back roads.

You'll get to see how others are doing it, they can give you pointers and you might even get some new people to ride with out of the deal. Get out of the sticks!

Re: Tell Me I'm Not Alone

Sounds like the first time I did one. Using yer Brain is highly overrated for this type of thing. Just go for it. Or get into it wit yer girl and then go for it.

Re: Tell Me I'm Not Alone

u said u were getting it up a little then it would come down. believe it or not u have the hardest part. once u get it up that first little bit give it even more gas. if u are sitting then the road infront of u should disapear because u cant see over the front of the windshield anymore. if u can still see the road then stay on the gas

Good Luck

Re: Tell Me I'm Not Alone

Practice consecutive days. I was trying to learn balance point for 6 months only practicing 1 day a week. The first time I stunted two days back to back I GOT IT!

Re: Tell Me I'm Not Alone

if your trying to learn slow stuff find i nice small lot, this way you are forced to get it to the bp and keep it slow. i did nothing but clutch to bp and drop it for like 2 months b4 i could do slow wheelies. but that small lot helped and pointers from a few friends. youll get it man just get it in your head that it is easy, you just have to figure it out, also alot of people will knock this way but, i rode the brake at bp hard. the farther back i got the more brake untill i learned the bp good enough to tap the brake. i smoled a few set of pads b4 i got it though

Re: Tell Me I'm Not Alone

Thanks for the motivation everyone. I guess I just gotta let some more snow melt and get the **** out there and just go for it. For the record, I always do staggered standups in first. I can get a smooth lift every time, but I never let it come up higher then like 2 feet. Oh well. No more *****en! I'll get out there with a bigger set of ***** next time.

Thanks again! Peace

just put in the back of your mind that you dont have to be afraid as long as you are covering the brake.

Re: Tell Me I'm Not Alone

I learned everything from a stock crf50 the day you can ride 3rd gear for a half mile or more you can stunt anything you'll get it it just takes time. Find the local guys to help you people arn't all ****s when it comes to riding as long as you put forth the time and effort and listen.
