bike storage

ok heres a really odd way i thought of storing my bike while having it close enough to ride everyday. Ok so i live in an apartment and storing the bike inside it is not an option and i dont live in the greatest part oftown so being outside is not an option either. I thought that if i bought a pick up truck, put in one of those alarms that have the little pager that goes off if you sneeze near it, i could keep the bike in the bed of the truck. that way if anyone trys to steal it they will set of the alarm. Does anyone think this might work? thanks for the input.....peace

Yeah do it, and weld the tailgate shut. And chain it up in there.

Re: bike storage

Wouldn`t you just be helping the theives by already having the bike loaded and ready to go, all they have to do is steal your truck?...

Re: bike storage

the truck would have an alarm...one that has the pager on the keychain that goes off when the truck is touched....

Re: bike storage

thieves are really skilled nowadays, if both get stolen then you're out a bike and a truck, just get a garage or something.

Re: bike storage

My brother had his bike stolen so he parks mine inside. If the landlord can't offer protection they should allow you to do it. Just don't have gas and oil leaking everywhere.
His neighbor has a chain from his bike to his truck.

Re: bike storage

That would work, unless you were out of range for the pager. Just put it in your livingroom.
