12bar Widths....

ok so i have a 905 external bar on my gixxer.

its straight as an arrow and the angle is perfect.
but
when its parked the road must be perfectly flat and there must be no wind whatsoever. otherwise it'll tip over.
i measured the skid plate and its 13 inches wide.

if i put a 16 or a 17 inch skidplate on there would that remedy the problem?
or would i just be actin a fool and create other problems?

Cut the bar shorter. If it is a little past 12 it will put more weight on it and won't fall over. I had a 11" wide bar on my 900RR and it never wanted to fall. I'm guessing when your bike is on the bar it is at around 11:30-11:45. Set it at 12:15-12:30.

Did You Measure From The Steering Nut Back To Each Corner To Make Sure The Bar Is Straight?

Re: 12bar Widths....

Ir you made the bar wider i would think that your increasing your chances of not hitting the bar square which may cause the corkscrew affect.

But i could be wrong i would try the measurements first before i widen the bar just a thought though

Re: 12bar Widths....

yeah i'm not really sure.
thats it in the avatar. looks pretty 12ish to me. i could be wrong.
i'm not sure how to determine or measure if its 11:45 or 11:30.
it doesnt flex and its not crooked at all everything measures up great. how stable is this sucker supposed to be ? on perfectly flat ground it will chill just fine but with some wind or somethin its bisquick time

Re: 12bar Widths....

Maybe your subframe is tweaked.. Dont make the bar any wider.. 905's are ridiculiously huge as it is..

Re: 12bar Widths....

yea... the 905s are really big...

i have an FI on my F4 and the bar is the exact width as my subframe, and it will sit on the bar like nothing

i want an undertail bar though..... bar tricks are gay
