cutting your windscreen??

i want to cut my stock windscreen down some so its even with the plastic on my gsxr 600. My legs are short has hell and this will help out with jumping up to high chair and heel clickers i think.

What did you cut it with? whats the best way?

will a regular cutting wheel work?

Re: cutting your windscreen??

I use a very fine tooth wood saw hacksaw might work but because the blade is so thin it would be hard to keep a straight line..................Either way cut on the outside of your line and sand it smooth and straight

Re: cutting your windscreen??

I just used a steel cutting wheel in a 4-1/2" angle grinder to trim my tail for a 12 bar. It was fast, that's for sure. Just don't let it get away from you. I'd draw a line and follow it rather than free-hand it.

Re: cutting your windscreen??

Use a dremel w/ a small cutting wheel... then use the sanding attachment. Comes out nice.

I used a hacksaw, if you're going to put padding (like pipe wrap) as a cushion, it dosen't matter how it looks anyway. Thats right b!tches... that spot under my knees is soft and precious.

+1. Cut off any melted plastic after with a box knife. Ziptie on some cut plastic tubing and enjoy.

Re: cutting your windscreen??

I used a hack saw...cuz i broke the bit I needed the night before...it just is a pain with a hack saw and i think i could have cut a straighter line after a 12 pack...but whatever i threw on sum pipe insulation and zip tied it down.
