Gixxer question and brake pad ?

First question is about the bikes that don't have an idle adjuster. I really need to get one like the hondas and kawis have. I'm tired of using a screw driver to adjust my idle at the spot. Anyone know of a kit or some way I can get the parts I need?

Second question. I ordered some HH brake pads for the rear brake on the bike. What's the best way to break them in?

it takes more than a 1/4 turn to get from 1000 to 3000 rpms, thanks for the advice though.

Re: Gixxer question and brake pad ?

parts for idle adjust: 2000 (yes the year is important) GSXR 750 Idle adjust cable, can be ordered at you dealer. it was the only newer model gixxer to come stock with one.

Brake pads, send the HH's back, STOCK is by far the baest way to go for rear pads. HH's will overheat and glaze over, blah blah blah... stock's will last REALLY long and work great! Break they in by riding around for a half hour using the rear brake a little, you want to slowly work them in without overheating/glazing them.

hope that helps

Re: Gixxer question and brake pad ?

no problem, order the braket the bolts onto the frame (under the rad. overflow tank) that holds the adjuster next to your fairing for you, also.

no fabrication, just remove the stock idle adjust screw (its a one inch long screw on the left of the FI setup, you have to lift the tank) and screw in the one foot long idle adjust cable
