Re: 636 Upper Support/Strengthening

Yo i got the solution to all your fairing stay problems--I built this sucker for my 929 and its rigid as hell--just go to home depot and play with some metal you need a good vice and a decent drill press---NO WELDER:

I'm going to make one for my 636 soon its really easy.

Re: 636 Upper Support/Strengthening

Heres a pic of my 905 besides the fit and finish you can see how thin the sides are, basically everytime I drop it the upper shifts 1 way breaks a bunch of **** and stays there. I have to use a piece of wood to push it back...

I think an all in one aluminum stay with some round tube would be maybe its time to start learning how to weld myself

Scuff the whole inside of the faring ( I used 100 grit ).......Mix up some f.g resin and spread it on the scuffed parts ( do lil sections at a time dont want it to dry b4 you lay in the f.g sheeting ).......pre cut the sheeting to the different areas of the faring, once you lay the resin in, lay in ur sheeting and spread resin over that......Im doing 2 layers of it to make sure its pretty durable.......Heres a pic, so far I have like an hour into it, got about half of it done.......once finished and sanded down a lil and painted, will look prety good and alot stronger

I would'nt want to rip my frame apart with that--my design is better--rigid and flexible.
