ignition issue?
alright so rollin on hwy at about 110+ or so the engine cuts out. i mean shuts down off, completely. i have to pull over, turn the key off and back on, **** with the switch to get started. doesnt' do it all the time, so i'm kind of baffled. sometimes it gives me a bunch of **** and doesn't wanna start. a while back the power to the guages would flicker off an on, and i was thinking it was a ground somewhere loose. i got a 98 gixxer 750 with an 02 guage swap. anyone have any ideas???

loose connection somewere.. My bike did the same thing,, One of the plugs was not snapped in the whole way. It can be hard to find,, Just jiggle things around untill it cuts out again. Worked for me.

Re: ignition issue?
Look at the wires on the bottom side of your ignition switch where they connect to the ignition....sometimes the solder joints get weak, not enough to break, but enough to cause those kinds of problems

i had the same issue the first time around. the kickstand tab was bent or something and wasn't keepin the switch pushed in the whole way. so gettin up that fast it would vibrate and shut off and on. it's a little differentthis time, i actually gotta pull over, and **** with it to get the bike to start back up. which usually just consists of turning the key on and off once or twice.

Re: ignition issue?
maybe a bad ignition? u can find any gixxer part on ebay for next to nothing.....try going over all the connectors u can find, id even take them apart and inspect them to see if maybe they got fried or melted from a bad connection. i had similar probs with my 900rr. i acually had to cut in a new connector for my ignition. connector was bad so it would over heat the wires and make my bike shut of randomly. once over the windscreen and i finaly fixed the prob
and id bypass the kickstand switch, just incase, u dont need it anyways
