Gsxr To Gsxr Match Up?
I have an 04 1000 and an 02 600. I'm going to swap the front end off the 1000 to the 600 and wondered if the back tire off the 1000 would bolt right on to my 6. Does anyone know if the rims are different widths? I thought I'd ask before I try, since I have a broken leg any work I do is a 1000 times harder . Any tips on changing the front end would be helpful, I hoping it's not too difficult, should just bolt right on ?

Thats not entirely correct. The front wheels are interchangeable between the bikes, but the rotors are not. The front rotors are different. If you are going to swap the entire front ends, then you will not have any problems.
The rear wheel on the 1k is wider, but you might be able to still use it on the 600 as long as you use the 1k spacers. the spacers might not work because the rear brake caliper bracket is way different on the 041K.. You can swap the rear wheels on the 01-03 600s and the 01-02 1Ks with no problems as long as you use the spacers that go with the wheel.. ie.. 1k wheel 1k spacers..
There really isnt any point in running the 1k rear wheel on the 6 tho. It doesnt give you ANY advantage at all. the 600 wheel will cut nicer for Os. The only advantage a wider wheel will give you is if you are one of those kind of people that run 2 pounds of air in your tire. Dont even go there.

Bad pic but heres the swap I did thats a 04-05 600/750 front end with an 02 600 wheel and rotors(320mm). For the rotors to fit you must use caliper spacers becasue the 04 1000 fork bottoms are made for 300mm rotors. If you dont want to use spacers and 320mm rotors you must use 04-05 750/600 or 04 1000 rotors.
I wouldnt run the 6" rear either

Re: Gsxr To Gsxr Match Up?
Yeah I want to use my 6's rim but a black powder coated front rim and a white back rim is going to look like my bike has the Micheal Jackson diesease. Plus I have a brand new Pilot Power on the 1000 rim, and like a dumb azz I put the michelin sport touring 190 on my 6's rim because I listened to someone tell me it'd be a good idea . Oh well I guess it's just one of those things you have to figure out and learn the hard way. Thanks everyone.
