get a 905 or MXD.. for the 900rr especially if yer just learning, they take good beatings and don't strip motormounts as quick

MXD makes the racing(street) cage and a full crash cage. I have a powers cage, and it is pretty tough. I can't really speak for a 900RR, but it works great on my GSXR. The only problems with it are that the bottom bar bottoms out and the bar closest to the pegs is pretty unforgiving on the shins. So, I am getting an MXD because it is just as strong as the Powers, yet it solves both of those problems.

Re: need a cage for a 900RR

i ride with a guy who has a powers on his gsxr and the damn thing bottoms out everytime he comes down from a wheelie, but they look strong. i think i might go with a 905 unless anyone knows for sure if mxd makes a full stunt cage for the 900RR?

Re: need a cage for a 900RR

yeah that gixxer bottoms hard but he is just learning to 12 so he comes down hard, but i think it would get annoying after awhile. it bottoms so often that the head of the bolts on the mounting plate are ground down to half the size they origanally where. i did notice that he was leaking some fork oil so his fork seals are bad. anybody have any MXD pics on a 900RR?

+1 ......ive seen them break motor mounts too. not saying there bad cages, but there just not good for the 900. 905 is the way to go with a 900rr, thats what i had on my old nine hundo worked perfect. arrons number is in my signature. give him a call and tell him that Nick from gse sent you and hell take good care of you ...

Re: need a cage for a 900RR

thanks for the input guys im going to go with a 905 cage. i never liked the FI cage because it looks like the main point of impact is on the motor mount and i have allready busted a motor mount using extended frame sliders. the FI would be nice if u have experience but i dont think it will hold up the beating im going to give it.

++1 FI is a good cage but not on the 900

905 is good but is known as a 'roll' cage for reasons... once you drop the bike it just flips around like a fish out of water
... im 6'4 and banged my knees a good bit on that cage too

no experience with any other cages but i hear good things about mxd

Re: need a cage for a 900RR

Racing 905 or MXD is best for 900rr.. take yer pick just FI will strip them mounts like a **** on the 900. 900 is just to weak on the mounts for it. . sorry no old cage, i wrecked with my 905 a bunch of times didn't get all ****ed up... so good stuff on that one, MXD never heard anything bad from them either.

905. Easy to install, got my order in quickly. dropped it a few dozen times(burnout ****) just touch it up with flat black paint, still looks cherry.

Sick cage is super stout. I have seen several 12 drops and the cage never budged.
