Can someone tell me what the tail light mounts to on a stock setup? I have a salvaged F4i that has been hacked and need to mount a light to pass inspection.

See bike at http://www.skurz.com/2001_honda_cbr_f4i_01.htm - on a stock F4i does that tail light physically mount to the back of the rear fender? As you can tell in the picture mine was chopped off.

Any pictures or help appreciated.

yeah your gonna need a new tailsection. there are a couple of tabs screwed on the inside of the tailsection that holds it in place.

it just mounts to a part of that haggard huge rear fender.............
not the actual tail plastic......
just shove it up in there somehow....
thats how mine is.. errrrrrr was when i had a taillight.....

lots n lots of zip ties.. don't be afraid to build a bird nest of zip ties to nestle your tail light

i taped mine on with clear tape to pass cause the cover came off and the woman grabbed it and started rockin it and makin it crunch, the crunch was it breaking more. I hate inspection people. I just didnt go back after that.

tailight mounts to the stock udertail, sorry i took so long i have been busy
