actually its more like 8 up, and I believe you would loose around 24 mph off your top end, you have to keep in mind your gauges are going to be way off.

Re: sprocket, new topspeed?

Is there some sort of calculation for this?

I am curious cuz I have +13 on my 929, and want to know the top speed too.

Im thinkin of sellin my r1 cuz I don't ride the thing, and ride the stunt bike all the time.

But I need to be able to keep up.

hahaha -1+5 is not the same as 10 up, and the tach may be 6mph off at 50 or 60 but it will be much more than that at 150 or whatever the new high speed is.

Gsxr 6 already did the formula and it is roughly 3mph pur tooth off your top end or where your bike makes the most hp which is at 12,500rpm 6th gear...

-1 +10 gearing = 35 to 40mph off your top end

At lower rpm's it will be less though like at 6-7,000 it will be much less like 20-25mph slower...

Your Max speed after that gear change will be - 130 - 140mph 12,500 6th gear...

When you go to 750's 929's, 1000's. The bigger displacement means more loss off top end pur tooth. I did one for the 1000 and it was 3.65mph pur tooth.

So for a rough guess for any bike would be something like this:

600= 3mph pur tooth

750= 3.3mph pur tooth

1000= 3.7mph per tooth

(off your top end)

That doesn't really work because with stock gearing you don't max out at redline, however when you gear with anything decent size you'll hit the revlimiter. My f3 is -1 +12 and does 120 on the revlimiter, i'd assume you probably can still hit 125-130

It does work - that's pretty much the same thing I used and I tested it at 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,000rpm and so on while riding next to my buddies bike that had stock gearing so I could read his speedo and compare it to mine to see if the formula was accurate and it was.
